The third instrument in the series, and the same rule as the first two: the most natural sound, without unnecessary functionality.
A sound that would not provoke, but would calmly tell you a secret with every note — after which you would want to settle under a blanket, dim the light and think about what you have just heard. In Russian, that secret is a tayna.
At a Glance
- One articulation, two versions the original sustain and the stylized sustain
- Four audio lines in the first version, each with its own microphone chain
- Every sample through tape a vintage Studer, for a warmer and less sterile sound
- The X slider built from the Rhodes samples themselves, with cassette tape, eurorack and pedals
- No plug-ins used every sound and every process in the sound design is analog
- A noise from the past the old Fender combo shakes on some notes, and that was kept deliberately
Content & Detail
The instrument was recorded in the spring of 2021, between packing suitcases, with no concept and a good deal of scepticism. The concept arrived during the sessions rather than before them, which is the opposite order from how the first two were made.
