25 authentic period firearms96 kHz WAV, 24 bit30-channel multitrack in the Construction Kit

Genuine World War II weapons are getting harder to find every year, and only authentic period pieces were used here — no later reproductions.

The library covers the weapons that defined the battles they were in, from the first assault rifle to pistols whose design is still in service. Every firearm was captured with both shots and mechanical sounds, so a scene can be built from the pickup through the reload to the gunshot without borrowing from another library.

At a Glance

  • 25 firearms counted off the field’s own four lists as 7 + 7 + 6 + 5, which agrees with its stated 25
  • 10 shots per gun plus single, burst and fully automatic firing where the weapon allows it
  • 30-channel multitrack so the shooter can be placed anywhere in relation to the gunshot
  • Natural outdoor reverb recorded on a hilltop near a forest for full, crisp tails
  • Mechanics as well as shots reloads, magazine changes, pickups, cocking actions, dryfire and bipods
  • 96 kHz WAV, 24 bit Windows and Mac, in every edition

01The Three Editionsand where their arithmetic lands
Construction Kit1,013 files · 8,148 sounds · 23.9 GB — the raw multitrack material
Designed197 files · 1,030 sounds · 1.97 GB — ready-to-use, drag-and-drop
The Bundle1,210 files · 9,178 sounds · 25.88 GB — both editions together

03How It Was Recordedlocation, array and honesty about the weapons
The locationA hilltop near a forest, chosen for the natural outdoor reverb rather than added afterwards
Why that mattersA natural tail makes the shot bigger without gluing it to one room; it stays usable indoors or anywhere else
The arrayShotgun through omnidirectional mics in AB, XY and ORTF, plus Ambisonics and ORTF 3D spatial setups
The far micA Sennheiser AMBEO VR Mic captured the sound from 100 metres away
Per weapon10 different shots each, plus single, burst and fully automatic where the weapon allows
MechanicsReloading and magazine changes, pickups, cocking actions, dryfire, and bipod sounds where the gun had one
AuthenticityOnly weapons made during the period; no later reproductions
04The Designed Editionthree styles from the same array
MechanicalClose-up sounds the gun makes when firing; light and subtle, with short tails
ModernPrecise and powerful with long tails, built for the modern first-person shooter
PunchDesigned for extra impact and a robust character
Where the styles come fromDifferent combinations of the same 30-channel array, pre-mixed for you
The 30 channels themselvesIncluded only in the Construction Kit; the Designed edition ships the results, not the tracks
Mixing it yourselfBoost the mic on the shooter’s trigger wrist or collar for a mechanical read; reach for the 100-metre AMBEO for distance
Why both togetherThe Designed mechanical shots give the whole firing process, while the Construction Kit keeps every Foley source for customisation

Thirty channels is not a specification, it is a decision you get to postpone. Distance, mechanics and room are captured separately, so where the shooter stands is settled in the mix rather than on the hilltop — which is why the Construction Kit and the Designed edition answer two different questions.
