Three editions, and the figures add up24 bit / 96 kHzEULA in Downloads

Three editions, and all three sets of figures add up.

Designed is 72 files and 432 sounds; the Construction Kit is 499 and 4,162; the bundle is 571 and 4,594. Add the first two and you get the third exactly, and the sizes do the same — 1.45 GB plus 13.96 GB is 15.41 GB. The addition is done here, off the supplier’s own three lines.

At a Glance

  • Eighteen firearms named Four revolvers, five pistols, seven rifles, two shotguns — counted off the field’s four lists
  • Pistols are the odd heading The opening line names rifles, revolvers and shotguns. The list underneath adds a fourth heading, pistols, with five weapons under it
  • 432 sounds over 72 files The Designed edition divides to exactly six sounds a file — the division is computed here, and the card does not say why it lands even
  • 15.41 GB across 571 files About 27.6 MB per file in the bundle — the division is computed here
  • Twenty-five keywords, closed list The field lists them and stops. There is no “and more”, so twenty-five is the whole search vocabulary
  • Three delivery formats Stereo, Ambisonics and ORTF3D, each named by the field, alongside close, mid and far mic positions

02What The Field Nameseighteen firearms in four lists
RevolversColt New Service, M1917 Revolver, Webley Mk VI, Nagant M1895 — four
PistolsSteyr M1912, Colt M1911, FN Highpower, Mauser C96, P08 Luger — five, under the heading the opening line leaves out
RiflesM1917 Enfield, Mosin Nagant 1891, Mosin Nagant M1907, Springfield M1903, Springfield M1903 A4, Steyr 1895, Krag–Jørgensen — seven
ShotgunsBrowning Auto 5, Winchester M1887 — two
The mechanical halfCocking, reloading, dryfires, misfires, bolt actions and handling. The field lists these apart from the shots themselves
Where it was recordedThe Construction Kit section says two acoustic environments. The section above it says a carefully chosen location, singular, and the sentence describing it calls the surfaces hard and reflective but softer. The card resolves neither, and neither does this page
KeywordsTwenty-five, from BULLET to WEAPON HANDLING, counted off the field’s own list

The shot is the short part. The bolt, the reload, the dryfire and the hand on the stock are what put a weapon in a room, and this card lists those apart from the gunshots — which is why the Construction Kit carries about eight sounds for every file, computed here from 4,162 over 499.
