An electric car is the hardest vehicle to record for exactly the reason it is pleasant to drive: there is almost nothing to mask a mistake.

With no engine noise to hide behind, wind, rain, birds and passing traffic all end up in the take — so the sessions waited months for the weather. What came back is up to twelve onboard channels per vehicle, electromagnetic microphones included, plus four exterior perspectives along a track.
