The Score is an all-in-one scoring toolbox built around two instruments — Ensemble for the accompaniment and Lead for the melody — with a Story system that hands you a finished arrangement to take apart.

A Story is an animated arrangement across ten instrument slots: keyswitches move between its variations, the mod wheel moves its dynamics, and every slot can be exchanged. Play the Stories, or ignore them and play the instrument pool note for note.

At a Glance

  • 160 instruments stated the same sentence names 46 orchestral, 37 synth, 20 band, 34 world and 18 drum, states 160 in total, and closes with “and more”
  • 155 counted in categories the five named categories add up to 155, five short of the stated total — and the “and more” leaves the list open
  • 150 Stories each with four different arrangements and a wide dynamic range
  • Ten instrument slots every Story is made of ten arranged slots, exchangeable at will
  • Ensemble and Lead two separate instruments, one for accompaniment and one for melody
  • Melody Studio generates melodies with a Markov chain algorithm and imports chord progressions from the Chord Studio

Counted here46 + 37 + 20 + 34 + 18 = 155 across the five categories the field puts numbers on
Stated totalThe same sentence says 160 in total and ends with “and more”. The five categories do not account for the stated total, and the list is open, so both figures are printed and neither is adjusted
Playing themAny instrument can be played freely, or dropped into one of a Story’s ten slots
02The Ensemble Instrument13 · 12 · 150
GenresThe field states 13
StylesThe field states 12, framed as the dramaturgist’s view of a scene
StoriesThe field states 150, each carrying four arrangements. Create your own from scratch, save them and share them
Quick entryA Story is an arranged colour palette; keyswitches switch its variations, and the mod wheel takes its arrangement and dynamic
Shape and playChoose instruments, adjust the dynamic palette, apply effects, then open a single instrument and change its behaviour in detail
Play ensembles freelyMarked NEW in the field: each slot now acts as a playable instrument, so you can build your own Stories with specific articulations
03The Lead Instrument and the StudiosMelody · Chord
LeadThe melody counterpart to Ensemble; the field says you choose between up to 2 melodic instruments
Melody StudioGenerates melodies with a Markov chain algorithm, then lets you move and shape every note in its editor
Chord StudioChord progressions arrive with each Story, and can be imported into the Melody Studio
ExportAdjust the notes to taste, then export the MIDI with its dynamics to the DAW and orchestrate further
Two headings, one labelThe Lead section prints the heading “INSTRUMENTS” twice in a row; the text under the second one is about effects, not instruments
04Tools, Host and the Field’s Own Figuresfour or five
Power toolsThe opening bullet names five — Chord Studio, Melody Studio, Dynamic Mixer, Adaptive Customizer and MIDI export. The feature list says “4 groundbreaking tools” and names the first four
Stories, twiceThe opening bullet says over 150 animated Stories. The Stories section, the genre panel and the feature list all say 150
LayersThe feature list describes a customizer controlling 10 layers of melodies and harmonies, matching the ten slots of a Story
HostWorks with the free Kontakt Player; Kontakt version 7.8.1 or higher
Windows and MacWindows 10 or higher; macOS 11 or higher
Memory, stated twiceOne requirement line says an Intel Core i5 or equivalent CPU with 2 GB RAM; the next says 4 GB RAM, with 6 GB recommended for large Kontakt instruments
Graphics and diskDirect 3D 11.1 at Feature Level 11_0 or higher; at least 19.5 GB of free disc space, which the feature list calls 19.5 GB of uncompressed data

A Story is a finished arrangement handed over as a starting point. Ten slots, four variations and a mod wheel is a bet that a composer would rather dismantle something that already plays than assemble one from an empty template.
