01The Two Instrumentsand where they come from▾
RonrocoAn Andean instrument larger than a charango, double stringed — the higher pairs double in unison and the lower ones in octaves, which is what makes the sound otherworldly
BouzoukiThe long-necked, metal-stringed lute developed in Greece in the early 1910s, modified locally to handle steel strings and so given its trademark twang
TogetherPunctuate the attacks with the bouzouki over a softer bed of ronroco strums, or play one as a pattern and the other as a melodic solo

Two arpeggiators interlocking is not the same as one arpeggiator playing twice as fast. The pattern that comes out belongs to neither instrument on its own, which is the entire point of pairing an Aegean lute with an Andean one.
