Does your sound seem thin or weak, no matter how loud it reads on the meter? Uberloud pushes it to a greater perceived loudness with one knob per band, and the advanced algorithms handle the rest.
Making a sound truly big usually takes layers of highly compressed and distorted material. This is a different, dynamic approach: high-end algorithms behind an easy interface, with maximum results in a few clicks.
At a Glance
- One knob per band dial it in and let the algorithm do the work
- Up to three bands controlled separately, with adjustable crossovers
- A clipper harmonics added rather than level simply raised
- A denoiser the floor stays down while the target comes up
- Three character types to tame it or let it bite
- Free trial available alongside the full version

01What It Doesthe idea▾
The problemA sound that reads loud on the meter and still gets drowned out by everything around it
The usual answerLayers of highly compressed and distorted material, stacked until something cuts through
This answerA dynamic approach: high-end algorithms in an easy-to-use interface, pumping the sound up with quick and maximum results
Why the denoiser mattersMaximizing raises the floor along with everything else; removing it is what makes this usable on voice overs and guitar solos
The other BOOM plug-inFor building an effect rather than pushing one, see EnRage 02The Controlsone to three knobs▾
Single or multi-bandAn on-board dynamic single and multi-band processor amplifies exactly the frequencies you need
CrossoversAdjustable and automatable crossover frequencies in multiband modes
CharacterThree different character types to tame it, or not
LinkingKnobs can be linked together in the interface for a single gesture across bands
03Since Version 1.2what changed▾
1.2.0 — November 2022Adjustable and automatable crossover frequencies in multiband modes; optional oversampling; optional linear phase filters in multiband modes; knobs linkable in the UI
OversamplingImproved quality with less aliasing, at the cost you would expect
PlatformFull native Apple Silicon support
Still the same principleEverything above still works under the basic knob principle it started with

What is requiredA free iLok account. Note that iLok is NOT required for the regular BOOM Library sound effects packs — only for the interactive software
Machine licenceFree. The licence sits on the computer running the software; no USB device is needed, only a free iLok.com account and the free iLok License Manager
USB dongleIf you already own a 2nd generation or newer iLok USB device, the licence can live on it instead. One dongle serves plug-ins from many manufacturers
Perceived loudness is not level. What makes a sound feel big is the harmonic content a clipper adds on the way up — which is also why the denoiser has to sit in the same box, since everything you add lifts the floor with it.
